       PROVERBS CHAPTER NINETEEN

       NKJV vs.1-4...Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool  (some who are poor are proud and won't ask for the help.     I believe the first help is to come to the Lord for salvation, and then follow through with the Word and learn what integrity is. Integrity is knowing what to do and then doing it, and those  things that comes from our mouths, will happen and when what we say is perverse and stupid, then we are a fool, for we shall have whatsoever we have spoken and believed),  Also it is not good for a soul (will, mind, emotions) to be without knowledge (Instruction from the Word of God), And he sins who hastens with his feet (Maybe this could mean, Open mouth, insert foot, when you are without the knowledge of God). The foolishness of a man twists his way (My way or the highway!), And his heart frets (worries) against the LORD.  Wealth makes many friends (This did not say wealthy people, this says wealth, so what do you do to obtain it?), But the poor is separated from his friend.

       MSG...Better to be poor and honest than a rich person no one can trust. Ignorant zeal is worthless, haste makes waste. People ruin their lives by their own stupidity, so why does God always get blamed? (Is this not the truth, now? We expect God to answer every prayer even when the prayer might hurt us or someone else, because we do not know the end from the beginning. We think we do, but WE DON'T)!  Wealth attracts friends as honey draws flies, but poor people are avoided like a plague.

       NKJV vs.5...A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies will not escape. (I have heard it said that, "lying is a very present help in time of trouble!"  Isa.46:10   Guess we know this is not true).

       MSG...Perjury won't go unpunished. Would you let a liar go free?

       NKJV vs. 6-8...Many entreat the favor of the nobility, And every man is a friend to one who gives gifts. All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him. He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good.

      MSG...Lots of people flock around a generous person, everyone is a friend to the philanthropist (TRUE! TRUE! TRUE!). When you're down on your luck, even your family avoids you...yes, even your best friends wish you'd get lost (MORE TRUE! TRUE! TRUE!). If they see you coming, they look the other way...out of sight, our of mind. Grow a wise heart (Plant some good Word from the Word of God)....you'll do yourself a favor; keep a clear head...you'll find a good life.

       NKJV vs. 9...A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies shall perish.

       MSG...The person who tells lies gets caught (Make sure your sin will find you out); the person who spreads rumors is ruined.

       NKJV vs.10...Luxury is not fitting for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule over princes (Remember the movie, "Trading Places?").

       MSG...Blockheads shouldn't live on easy street any more than workers should give orders to their boss.

       NKJV vs.11-19...The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression. The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass. A foolish son is the ruin of his father, And the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping (NAG,NAG,NAG). Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the LORD. Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, And an idle person will suffer hunger. He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But he who is careless of his ways will die. He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given (God gives to us to give to others and then God gives back to us, so all of you who have been giving, get ready to receive, for God does pay you back, and then SUM!!!). Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his destruction. A man of great wrath will suffer punishment; For if you rescue him,you will have to do it again (True, been there done that!).   MSG...Smart people know how to hold their tongue, (I am trying so hard to be smart, but I know that I have to forgive and forget. But I still have to hold my tongue), their grandeur is to forgive and forget. Mean-tempered leaders are like mad dogs, the good-natured are like fresh morning dew. A parent is worn to a frazzle by a stupid child (Could you just imagine how our Abba Father feels about us when we act stupid?), a nagging spouse is a leaky faucet. House and land are handed down from parents, but a congenial spouse comes straight from God. Life collapses on loafers, lazybones go hungry. (I owe, I owe, its off to work I go),  Keep the rules and keep your life, careless living kills. Mercy to the needy is a loan to God, and God pays back those loans in full. Discipline your children while you still have the chance, indulging them destroys them. Let angry people endure the backlash of their own anger, if you try to make it better, you'll only make it worse (sometimes it is better to just shut up and walk away).

        NKJV vs.20-23...Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. There are many plans in a man's heart, Nevertheless the LORD'S counsel...that will stand. ( selah and just think about this...how many times did you plan to do something and everything just seemed to go wrong; seemed to keep you from doing you plan. God does direct our steps, no matter).  What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar. The fear (Love and respect) of the LORD leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.

       MSG...Take good counsel and accept correction....that's the way to live wisely and well. We humans keep brainstorming options and plans but God's purpose prevails. (We can think that we have it all figured out, and we may, but not if the Lord's purpose is not in it. He will have the final say of the thing).  It's only human to want to make a buck, but it's better to be poor than a liar. Fear of God is life itself, a full life, and serene....no nasty surprises.

       NKJV vs. 24-27...A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl, And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. Strike a scoffer, and the simple will become wary; Rebuke one who has understanding (when you direct someone in a matter of importance, they will listen to you if they really want to learn), and he will discern knowledge. He who mistreats his father and chases away his mother Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach. Cease listening to instruction, my son, And you will stray from the words of knowledge.

       MSG...Some people dig a fork into the pie but are too lazy to raise it to their mouth. (Anyone can look at me and see that I am not too lazy! lol) Punish the insolent ....make an example of them. Who knows? Somebody might learn a good lesson. Kids who lash out against their parents are an embarrassment and disgrace. If you quit listening, dear child, and strike off on your own, You'll soon be out of your depth.

       NKJV vs.28-29...A disreputable witness scorns justice, And the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity. Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of fools.

       MSG... And unprincipled witness desecrates justice, the mouths of the wicked spew malice. The irreverent (disrespectful) have to learn reverence (respect) the hard way, only a slap in the face brings fools to attention (somebody had to do it!).

        Bottom line; when we do what is right, and we don't lie, and we don't talk bad about the boss, or the husband, of the parents, and we use respect and stay in the Word of God, and use wisdom, we will survive. We must have a right attitude! These teachings are really hard on the teacher, and only a teacher of the Word of God will understand this statement....What I teach, I have to relearn or learn and it has been a hard two weeks of keeping my mouth SHUT! when I wanted so badly to open it. God does make you practice what you teach. OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!  Have some of you not noticed how quiet I have become? lol but not really!

    ~~~BEING KIND TO THE POOR IS LIKE LENDING TO THE LORD. HE WILL REWARD YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. PROV. 19:17   WHEN YOU TAKE FOOD TO THE POOR, THAT'S AN ACT OF WORSHIP. WHEN YOU GIVE A WORD OF KINDNESS TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT, THAT'S AN ACT OF WORSHIP. WHEN YOU WRITE SOMEONE A LETTER TO ENCOURAGE THEM OR SIT DOWN AND OPEN YOUR BIBLE WITH SOMEONE TO TEACH THEM, THAT'S AN ACT OF WORSHIP.... MAX  LUCADO.~~~
